Dithering deliberately scatters stitches; patch merging and edge smoothing will undo most of it, so set patches to 1 and edges off if you want it.

5. Export

Print the canvas file at 100% / “actual size”, never “fit to page”. Check the 1-inch bar in the margin with a ruler.
